What Legacybox sells

Legacybox sells digitizing kits in five sizes: the 2 Item Starter, the 10 Item Family, the 20 Item Closet, the 40 Item Trunk, and the 80 Item Vault. Each kit converts tapes, film reels, or sets of 25 photos, and the media types can be mixed and matched. The tapes accepted include Hi 8, Digital 8, 8mm, VHS, Micro MV, Mini-DV, and Betamax. Photos include prints, negatives, albums, and snapshots. Film covers 8mm, Super 8, and 16mm reels. Audio covers cassettes, reels, and recordings. The product list also includes add-ons such as USB thumb drives and disc sets, a Legacybox Cloud monthly membership, and vouchers with a stated value toward digitizing services.

Legacybox prices

Legacybox prices its kits at $69.98 for the Starter, $319.98 for the Family, $639.98 for the Closet, $1,249.98 for the Trunk, and $2,499.98 for the Vault. Each kit converts up to its stated number of tapes, film reels, or sets of 25 photos, or a mix of these. The product list shows additional items such as a USB thumb drive at $4.99, a Legacybox Cloud monthly membership at $7.99, and film transfers at $12. The Prime Time Event prices the 20-Item Legacybox at $250, with every upgrade included free.

Legacybox shipping

Every Legacybox kit includes a prepaid return UPS mailing label for sending the filled box back to Legacybox. The Prime Time Event page states that shipping is free on the 20-Item Legacybox at $250. The kit can be dropped off at any UPS location. Legacybox does not make delivery guarantees for orders with Standard Processing during peak season, and orders with Standard Processing are processed in the order they are received. A Guaranteed Rush option is available in checkout for orders needed by a specific date.

Legacybox returns

Legacybox accepts returns within 30 days of the completion of an order, and the 30 days start from the day the team hands the product to the shipping carrier for final delivery. If a kit has not yet shipped out, a full refund is available. If the kit has shipped, a refund is available less shipping and a restocking fee, within 30 days of the original order date. Once a filled Legacybox has been sent in for processing, the order cannot be canceled or returned. Vouchers and e-deals can be returned within 7 days of the original order date for a full refund. Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility and are non-refundable.

Discounts and offers at Legacybox

Legacybox runs a Prime Time Event in which the 20-Item Legacybox is priced at $250, compared with the regular Closet price of $639.98. During this event, shipping, protection, download, processing, and app access are all free, and every upgrade is included free. The product list also includes vouchers with a stated value toward digitizing services at reduced prices, such as a $50 value for $19 and a $250 value for $89.

Every Legacybox kit includes a crushproof box, a welcome guide with instructions, safety item barcodes, a prepaid shipping label, professional hand-digitizing, and a free 30-day Legacybox Membership trial with access to the Legacybox app. The app allows streaming, casting to smart devices, sharing via email or secure link, and downloading files, with secure file storage on Fortune 100 servers. Each item is barcoded and scanned up to a dozen times during processing, and customers can track their order online and receive up to 12 emailed updates. Legacybox states that over 200 trained technicians work at its production campus in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and that the company has preserved more than 700,000 items a week.
