Woolx uses Australian Merino wool in its garments. The Piper Pocket Leggings are 85% Australian Merino Wool, 12% Nylon and 3% Spandex, in a 330g heavy weight fabric, and the brand states the wool is non-mulesed and Woolmark certified. The brand’s merino wool is 18.5 microns for heavyweights and 17.5 microns for midweights and lightweights. Woolx states that its 230g and 400g weight merino wool knits provide UPF 50 protection and its 160g lightweight knits provide UPF 25 protection. Merino wool can absorb up to 30% of its weight in water and still feel dry to the touch.
