Trainz shipping

The company insures all packages against both loss and damage. For most shipping services, the customer receives a tracking number and a link to a page where they can track their shipment. The moment the order ships, the customer receives an automated email providing confirmation of shipment.

Trainz returns

Trainz aims for every customer to be satisfied with their purchase and will work with the customer to repair, replace, refund, or provide a partial credit as appropriate. Customers must contact Trainz within 30 days of confirmed delivery to request assistance with an order, while Private Car members have 60 days from the confirmed delivery date. If the item is damaged, defective, or not as expected, the customer must include clear photographs of the item and packaging. All returns require authorization from Trainz before the item is shipped back, and unauthorized returns may be refused. Returned items must be in the same condition in which they were received, including original packaging, all parts and accessories, and documentation and inserts. Items that are modified, altered, installed, or damaged after delivery may not be eligible for return. Trainz reserves the right to charge return shipping costs when the return is not due to an error by Trainz, and a 15% restocking fee applies if an item is returned in a condition different from when it was shipped. Refunds are generally processed after the returned item has been received and inspected. For higher value orders, Trainz may require signature confirmation upon delivery. For international orders, shipping charges and customs duties, taxes, and import fees are non-refundable, and shipping to Brazil is final and ineligible for return.

Good to know about Trainz

Trainz is one of the largest online retailers and buyers of collectible model trains in the United States, serving hobbyists, collectors, and estates with new and pre-owned inventory across all major train scales and manufacturers. The company was founded by Scott and Milinda Griggs, who grew the business from a small train repair business in Scott’s parents’ garage into a company operating from a 73,000-square-foot facility in Flowery Branch, Georgia. Trainz has specialized in Lionel, MTH, vintage, postwar, and modern model trains for decades. The company offers Trainz Academy, where collectors can learn directly from respected Lionel and MTH experts who have spent decades repairing and servicing model trains. Trainz also buys model train collections and does the work of box matching, cleaning, repairing, taking photos, researching, and pricing the item. The company uses Train Collectors Association grading standards and photographs each collectible individually. Trainz is an authorized service station for Lionel and MTH, and its technicians inspect items and determine whether repair, replacement, refund, or another resolution is appropriate.
